Silhouette Group wins ALC Inclusion Award 2024

Every year, Austrian companies look forward with great anticipation to the prestigious Austrian Leading Company Award (ALC) ceremony, the most respected business prize in the country. Initiated by the newspaper Die Presse in cooperation with KSV 1870 and PwC, and supported by the Essl Foundation / Zero Project, a highly recognized inclusion award is also presented as part of the ALC. This year, the Silhouette Group secured first place in Upper Austria. The Austrian premium eyewear manufacturer impressed the distinguished panel through a rigorous, three-stage selection process. The family-owned company embodies the belief that diversity not only enriches corporate culture, but is also the key to sustainable success and growth.

Inclusion is an important part of the corporate strategy

Inclusion is deeply embedded in the Silhouette Group's corporate structure. Silke Haider, HR Specialist for People Development, Inclusion & Diversity, drives this initiative with great passion and strategic vision. Her personal experience with her own disability gives her valuable insights into what really matters when it comes to successful integration into working life. The company currently employs 30 people with disabilities, who actively contribute to the Silhouette Group’s success across various departments, including production, technology, and housekeeping. CMO Michael Schmied explains, "Perhaps, as an eyewear manufacturer, we see things a little more clearly and focus on what truly matters: humanity. Our ability to lead with empathy defines us, not only as managers but as a company. That's why inclusion isn’t just a box to tick—it’s a core part of our strategy, one that inspires, connects, and helps us find solutions even in challenging times." On October 22, 2024, the ceremony took place at the Brucknerhaus Linz where the award was presented to HR Specialist Silke Haider, CEO and CFO Reinhard Mahr, and CMO Michael Schmied. .
