SPX®+

Let’s go back in time to 1983. As we'll see, Silhouette was ahead of the game even back then, inventing SPX®+, a new material that would usher in a new era of lightness. So, what makes SPX®+ so special? The “S” stands for “Silhouette”, the “P” for “polyamide”, and the “X” for our design nomenclature. All in all, SPX®+ is the most innovative plastic material on the market for glasses.

No other material offers the same degree of lightness, look and feel, precision, elasticity, strength, and versatility that we require in a polymer compound. SPX®+ offers the highest degree of functionality and comfort.

„It also opens the door to limitless design possibilities and provides an exceptional canvas for radiant colors. Because it is a transparent granulate, it readily takes on any color with the addition of a fine pigment powder."

SPX®+

From understated cosmetic tones to bold, vibrant hues, the color possibilities are virtually limitless. The surfaces are finished with imprints, varnishes or metallic embellishments.

The development of SPX®+ in 1983 proved a major development in eyewear design. Today, nearly 40 years later, our experts are still using this high-tech material and making it even better. As is almost always the case, it’s the little details that make the biggest impact. And careful attention to those details is what has always defined our company, throughout our 60-year history of creating premium glasses.
